FourStroke Bus Biography
Engaging original songs connect the audience with this group of musicians that love the community experience of music. FourStroke Bus covers ground from old Bessie Smith and blues traditionals, to soul/gospel, rock and funky originals.
Wade and Lisa Port met in the summer of '04 and instantly made a connection. The very next day they were sitting around the pool in Chattanooga, TN pickin' and grinnin'. After witnessing Lisa's incredible talent it wasn't long before Wade pulled her up on stage with him in Atlanta. After relocating to Ketchum, Idaho Wade began MC'ing a local open mic night. When Lisa moved out West in the summer of '06 it was only a matter of time before they captured an audience. In the Spring of 2007 the duo became known as FourStroke Bus.
Ken Martin, a long time resident of the wood river valley and axeman for valley favorites 'The Heaters', went from casual sit-ins to full time player and songwriting contributor. Cory Ballentine has been a mainstay of drumming and sound engineering in the valley and was a perfect fit for Lisa's blues and funk infected songs. Once our young musical prodigy, Chris Clark, joined the band for bass duties the Bus was ready to kick it into high gear.
FourStroke Bus is busy writing new songs and will be recording soon. At a show you can expect a mix of original tunes and covers ranging from Bessie Smith, Widespread Panic, and Ani DiFranco, to JJ Cale. With music going from roots americana to good ol' rock n' roll, a FourStroke Bus show is a community celebration of life.
